What has struck me since creating the Farm is the close link between the brides who love the farm, and their love of quality food and green issues.
We are proud to hold the protection and enhancement of the environment and sustainable development as one of our core beliefs.
Every year we hold community orientated events – our biggest success is our annual event timed to coincide with Open Farm Sunday. Where we try and showcase our cookery and farming by offering the local community a great day out with farming, craft and cookery demonstrations and supporting local traders via a Farmers and Craft Market.
Some of our environmental awards can be seen here on our Credibility & Awards and include being awarded GOLD by the Green Business Scheme!
So far in the short time that we have been trading, we have educated over 1000 children about where food comes from and the importance of respecting the environment; worked with various third sector groups to provide social support for both children and adults; taught over 700 people to cook and carry on enjoying the love of quality food; and retained our status as a working hill farm.
All staff employed at The Wellbeing Farm are local to the area. We make every effort to source local suppliers and provenance of food is a value which underpins the business
Finally I must mention our toilet twinning – We wanted to give something back which was important to people’s lives but also linked with our environmental core. I happened by accident to come across the Toilet Twinning site and we have now twinned all our toilets and will keep on twinning every year! A bit of fun with charitable benefits and our guests love it!
“What an amazing place – Celia thank God that you had a vision and left the NHS! I’ve had a completely brilliant day – very relaxing, exciting and lovely food and a special ambience” Lesley x
