Though summer is still the most popular wedding season, winter weddings are becoming more and more popular. At The Wellbeing Farm, it’s no exception. So, we’ve compiled a list of reasons why you shouldn’t rule out winter for your wedding just yet…
Before we do though, let’s get to the main reason why summer is the more popular season – the classic British weather. True, the weather may be not as nice during the winter – it’s cold, a bit bleak, and it rains more; but did you know it is actually good luck for it to rain on your wedding day? And, it doesn’t stop you having a fun, quirky, and magical winter wedding here!
Our Wedding Barn gets plenty warm with our outside heaters – the second you walk in you’ll be as warm as going into a cosy chalet in the mountains. We even have fleecy blankets for you to get wrapped up in and toast chestnuts on our fire pit, as well as marshmallows!
Plus, as the night goes on and you and your guests start dancing, you’ll even forget how cold it is outside!
Pimp Your Hot Chocolate! We’ll be honest and say hot chocolate in the summer does sound a little strange, but it goes with winter as marshmallows go with whipped cream on top of your hot chocolate itself. Add in a shot of Baileys or Amaretto from our Ammo Box and you’re sorted!
Speaking of hot drinks, you can also have a choice of something wintery for your welcome drinks as well – a glass of Mulled Wine or Mulled Cider will transport you to the Christmas Markets!
We cover our Wedding Barn in fairy lights, along with our LED trees and brand-new LED willow to give it a magical Winter Wonderland feel. Some of the times that our Barn has looked the most beautiful are during winter! That’s not even including all the Christmas decorations! You can’t have those during the summer!
With all those lovely decorations, you are sure of a fantastic atmosphere INSIDE the barn! To be honest, you lose some of your atmosphere with guests going outside in the summer, whereas that won’t happen at a winter wedding!
Cold days drawing in often means hot stews and similar rib-sticking meals for tea. So, our menus are perfect for that; including Host The Roast with a choice of meat brought to the table on a board along with a carving knife, or the Crowd Pleaser featuring the ultimate comfort food including Lancashire hot pot, Lancashire macaroni, and cheese or Whiteheads sausages and mash to name just a few choices.
Sparklers!! We often have questions about sparklers, and we don’t allow them in summer as the dry weather makes them more of a fire hazard! However, as it is colder, you are more than welcome to have sparklers at your winter wedding – in fact, the sparklier the better!
