You may have read our blog ’12 Hottest Wedding Trends 2019’, where we went through the most exciting things you’ll be seeing at weddings next year. Now, thanks to Coco & Kat over at https://cocoweddingvenues.co.uk/the-blog/inspiration/wedding-inspiration/the-2019-wedding-trend-report/, we’ve got even more 2019 wedding trends to show you!
Good Vibes
In 2019 there’ll be more of a focus on the vibe of a wedding, rather than on a set colour or theme. Expect more relaxed and hygge weddings in the new year. We’re happy to hear this is a trend for 2019, as we’ve been specialising in chilled-out, couple orientated weddings since our beginnings!
Going Outdoors
In our piece, we predicted that there’d be a trend of bringing the outdoors in, but perhaps the trend will be bringing the indoors out! There’ll be an increase in celebrant led ceremonies, where couples can choose the time and place they get married! The Wellbeing Farm is lucky enough to have a Wedding Licence for our stunning outdoor Wedding Pavilion, meaning a couple can legally be married outdoors on our farm!
Forgetting Foam
A big wedding trend for next year will see couples ditch floral foam in favour of eco-friendly and sustainable floristry methods. You see, floral foam is made from non-biodegradable plastic, causing a whole host of problems for our environment.
Florists will forget the foam and switch to more sustainable methods, and use more locally sourced plants and flowers. We’re so happy to hear this as sustainability is one of our key values! We go as far to use our food waste to plant our own edible flowers on the farm, and we already provide couples with a great selection of vessels for their flowers – without any foam in sight!
Fantastic Food
Coco Wedding Venues predict that weddings will become more accessible as better quality, and wider ranging, dietary and allergen menus will be a wedding trend in 2019. They also predict that home comfort foods will be big next year, including delicious mac ‘n’ cheese and pies.
At The Wellbeing Farm we offer a wide range of high quality dietary requirement options, so it’s great to see that this will become the norm.
Projection Projects
Projections can truly make a space come alive, blurring the lines between the indoors and outdoors. Projections can be themed to the season too, for example, swaying corn for summer, or snow for the winter.
We already try to bring as much of the outdoors into our barn as we can, so we’d be very excited to see this at our venue!
Dried Flowers
Continuing the theme of bringing the outdoors in, dried flowers will be a big trend for 2019. Dried flowers would be ideal for a summer or harvest-themed wedding, giving your wedding that natural and nostalgic feel all at once. Plus, they smell great!
Down to Earth
Earthy/honey tones will be a big theme for 2019, with Dulux announcing that Spiced Honey will be their Colour of the Year for 2019. In addition, Pantone have recently announced that coral is their colour for 2019. These tones are warm and inviting, and are already a major part of our wedding barn. They go so well with a rustic, natural vibe and that’s why we use them so much. The great news is that our Wedding Barn walls are already the perfect honey tone colour!
Sustainable Fashion
Bridal designers will continue to become more environmentally conscious, from sourcing more local fabrics to creating less packaging. There’ll be an emphasis on reusability in bridal design, turning a wedding dress into a one-time item into something you can cherish for a lifetime.
It’s great to know that bridal designers, brides, and venues like ourselves, are coming together to make sure that weddings can remain spectacular, without doing any lasting damage to the Earth.
We feel we already score a massive tick for this box – our whole Prop Store is made up of recycled wedding loveliness…
So, thanks to Coco Wedding Venues for the inspiration, and thanks to you for reading!
