Weddings are one of the biggest family occasions that will happen in a person’s lifetime, in fact, it is one out of only a couple of events that may hold all of your family in one place at the same time.
When people talk about things being family-friendly, we normally immediately think of it being accessible for children – but that’s not entirely true. Family friendly truly means friendly for ALL ages, not just the young but the young-at-heart as well.
For the young-at-heart, we’ve made a lot of changes in our Wedding Barn to improve accessibility. Last year, we ditched the uneven and bland carpet for a flat, even, wooden effect surface (which also looks a lot nicer than before); and this year, we have also put down the same flooring in our bar area. Speaking of the bar, we have also added a lot more sofas and armchairs too, including our Cosy Corner/Naughty Corner. The last addition is our new chairlift for any guests with either wheelchairs or prams, or has any additional needs.
Onto children, this is where the beauty of exclusivity comes in – you’re not going to be worried of little Timmy running out of the room and over the road! They have the whole site to run around in and play, especially the lawn, full of outdoor games. Children also love our little tipi as a little secret area for them to hang out too.
Having said that, I hope we have now shown you just how truly family friendly we can be – I feel I have only touched the surface, but I don’t want to bore you. The best thing to do would be to visit the farm yourselves, and see just how all-persons-friendly we can truly be!
