You may think this is a little bit odd… allow me to explain
As a sustainable business, we are also aiming to be a business with a circular economy. That basically means that we aim to re-use everything and effectively become a waste-free business.
Ambitious we know, but we LOVE a challenge here.
Did you know that 1 wedding can produce as much as 20kg of waste…? Lovely. And with a greater awareness of plastic waste and its detriment to the environment, we know that not just us, but all of our couples wish to reduce their plastic waste.
So here comes the topic at hand: flip flops
We realise they are incredibly useful, especially at the end of the night. Feet hurt too much to dance before – they can now! The satisfaction of reliving your tired feet from a pair of heels – nothing can beat it.
However, let’s face it; no one wants to reuse a smelly flip flop do they?
So if you think about it, that’s a lot of smelly flip flops that no one’s going to use again, that will likely go in the bin, or shoe recycling at best.
Now while we don’t really want to ban them outright, we do want to advise all our couples to think about alternatives.
First off is to encourage guests to bring a pair of flats to bring out when needed.
