Weddings

Woohoo!

Congratulations and welcome to our fun, quirky and magical Weddings and Events Venue.

Whether your dream is a traditional farm wedding or something daringly different, we can’t wait to help you plan your dream day. We’ve got the personality, experience and spectacular locations to give you amazing memories of your big day.

We’ve developed The Wellbeing Farm from a one-time neglected agricultural operation to what you see today and it’s taken years of research, love and attention to create what’s now regarded as one of the best weddings venues in the country.

In fact, we’ve just been awarded THE Best Weddings Venue in the North West by Bridebook!

If you’ve decided to get married or made the decision to organise a large function or party – you are in safe hands. Wellbeing for us means making the most of your life by creating fantastic memories and experiences. Ultimately we seek to take the stress and hassle of weddings and party planning away from you.

So here’s how weddings at the farm work…

We can cater for up to 170 guests when they are all sat down or 250 guests if they all stand up in our Main Barn.

All our weddings have exclusive access to the farm and of course to all our props (including our bow tie-wearing Llamas and Alpacas and Donkeys).

It means that you will always have a unique and hassle free wedding for you.

We do all the catering and provide a full bar service until 1am.

The truth is though, it is very hard to get the feel and the essence of what we do from a website which is why we really do encourage you to visit.

Ceremonies

We are fully licensed in two locations for civil ceremonies (our Main Barn and our Wedding Pavilion) and we welcome humanist ceremonies, naming ceremonies and renewal of vows.

Both locations really do provide a magical setting and we have so many props which you can use to make your ceremony unique and special including a floral arch, vintage typewriting, vintage writing desk, thrones, lights for the aisle…. the list is truly endless…

If you would like a civil ceremony, you will initially need to contact the local registry office where you live and then contact Blackburn with Darwen Registry Office on 01254588660 who will advise on the fees.

After the ceremony, we need a short period of time to prepare the Barn for your wedding feast. This time is perfect for welcome drinks, canapes, games on the lawn and photographs.

Feast and Fizz

We pride ourselves in serving food which is locally sourced, seasonal, beautifully presented and tastes fantastic. Not many venues have their own award-winning, Cookery School and 130-year old butchers shop in the family. But we do.

Our celebratory dinners are imaginatively prepared and presented using the very best local produce – the lamb is even reared on our farm and we decorate our food using farm-grown edible flowers and herbs.

Our preference is to offer an informal, social and relaxed table service with the main focus being on the food which is placed in the centre of each table. Guests help themselves and the constant passing of dishes provides an ice-breaking subject and constant talking point throughout the rest of your meal resulting in a more relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

For evening options we have our own hog roast machine and wood burning pizza oven. Best of all, if you are not sure what to do for a wedding cake, we make Cheese Celebration Cakes which are decorated with flowers, fruit and herbs as an alternative option.

To complement the food, we have a competitively priced drinks and wine menu where you will find some lovely delights including over 50 types of gins and a great selection of animal themed wines! We even have our own Micro Brewery – the Edgworth Brew Co.!

When you visit to view our venue, you’ll get a full information pack detailing all your fabulous drinks options and you’ll be able to browse through a whole host of clearly priced wedding menus to get those taste buds tingling.

Planning and Support

If you want the truth….. we aren’t just a wedding venue, our team provides a caring, a family run business which is personal, friendly, reliable, helpful and supportive – think of us as a wedding planner, event organiser and venue rolled up into one. We help couples manage the stress of wedding planning and organisation by providing a range of helpful resources, which include:

  • A Secret Wedding Website to help you with your wedding planning which contains loads of checklists and everything you need
  • A Secret Facebook page for couples who have booked – any wedding worries can be sorted in record time
  • Three planning meetings and a detailed wedding booking pack
  • Excellent communication throughout every step of your journey through monthly Wedding Open Days and being open EVERY Wednesday evening – if you have a problem, the maximum time you have to wait is a week when you can pop up and we will endeavour to sort it out for you.
  • A comprehensive supplier list full of trusted suppliers who we have used and tested
  • Experienced and qualified Wedding Coordinators
  • All the props in our Prop Store are included in our hire fee – so you don’t have to buy or hire any unnecessary décor (or face the hassle of selling it on eBay afterwards)… (we’ve even created a short film showcasing our props: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCepCY0b6w0)
  • EVERYTHING included in the hire price: tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and much more
  • All our prices include VAT and we have a transparent pricing policy
  • If the venue is free you can come and decorate it the day before, otherwise, a team will help you on the morning of your wedding.
  • Finally, we offer a guarantee on the quality of your wedding food.

That’s why we’ve coined the phrase ‘weddings with no drama – no probllama’

Wedding Planning Abroad

We have planned weddings without the couple ever seeing the venue in real life?

By the power of Facetime, we have had couples from the Philippines, Dubai and Australia who were so confident about the delivery of weddings at our venue that they booked, despite not being able to visit until a couple of days before the big day!

Wedding meetings were held via Zoom and using the power of the internet, all planning was done online. The couples used our comprehensive supplier list to find wedding suppliers, and family members attending our Wedding Feast Experience to test our food.

One of the couples wanted a Christmas wedding, so we organised a special Christmas-themed Wedding Open Day in May so they could view our Christmas props.

Please get in touch if you want that quintessentially English farm wedding and we will make it happen for you…

Special Weddings planned quickly…

Every so often we come across amazing couples who unfortunately need a wedding planned very quickly due to family illness or other circumstances. This is where we really can help.

Our record time to date for planning a wedding is 12 days, where we helped Lucy the bride sort out the Registrar, find suppliers and plan her wedding to Karl including choosing the wedding feast and entertainment.

Multicultural Weddings

We will help you plan an incredible celebration for your friends and family. Our Barn holds 270 guests so perfect for a smaller wedding, but it is very unique and the space around the farm means we can hold creative and energetic celebrations. You can even arrive by helicopter for the ultimate in weddings with the ‘Wow’ factor… We work with specialist caterers to ensure the quality and provenance of your wedding feast.

Woof! – Dog (and other animals) Friendly Weddings

We love our four-legged friends and why stop at Llamas, Alpacas and Donkeys….?

If you want to involve your dog in your wedding ceremony (which we love) then we will help you – we simply adore four-legged ring bearers and doggy guards of honour or canine guests. After your ceremony, your doggy can enjoy a bottle of Pawsecco with our compliments.

Many of our fabulous couples have had their dogs walk down the aisle and some couples have even bought their horse for photos!

We have linked up with a local dog carer Brambles https://www.facebook.com/bramsdogsittingservice/ who will look after your doggy at the farm and take your pooch home and look after him/her overnight and return your doggy to the farm the following morning. It’s a great service.

Best of all, if you’d like your dog to get married at The Wellbeing Farm by having a doggy friendly wedding, just let us know and we will seek to sort this out for you – we’ve so many canine-friendly ideas.  Woof!
