Weddings can be an emotional time for the best of us, but if you are missing a loved one too it can be incredibly hard and sometimes overwhelming.
Don’t panic, here are a few ideas so that you can remember your loved one on your wedding day:
- Use their favourite flowers as part of your bouquet, buttonholes or centre-pieces
- There may be something of theirs you can use as your “something old” or “something blue”
- Dedicate an area of your venue to share family pictures, including those who cannot be there in person. Old wedding pictures are a lovely touch. We have a “Memory Ladder” in our Prop Store which is perfect for this
- Reserve them a seat for your ceremony
- Acknowledge them during your speeches
- See if your venue can stock their favourite drink on the bar, or use their favourite wine for the meal
- Dance to their favourite song
- If you are having programmes for your ceremony, include a note to them inside
